Last week’s trading markets were volatile and broadly mixed, with major U.S. indexes finishing slightly lower after tumbling early in the week amid renewed geopolitical and tariff fears, then rebounding midweek on easing headlines and solid fundamentals. At the same time, gold and other safe-haven assets climbed to record highs and international markets such as India’s benchmarks saw significant declines amid global uncertainty.
